Can you FaceTime Santa?
You want the part that matters: your child asks a question, Santa hears it, and he answers. Here’s how to find that kind of Santa video call—and what to know before you start.
A Santa video call, on your iPhone
People often say “FaceTime Santa” when they mean a face-to-face video conversation with Santa. Dial Santa offers a live, two-way conversation with an AI Santa in its own iPhone app. It does not use Apple’s FaceTime service, and you do not need Santa’s phone number or email address.
There is no public Santa FaceTime number provided by Dial Santa. To use the app, a parent downloads it from the App Store, sets up the account and profile, chooses call minutes, and starts a call inside Dial Santa.
What kind of Santa call are you looking for?
| Experience | What happens | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Prerecorded message | A prepared video or phone message plays. | Which details are personalized, and whether your child can actually ask questions. |
| Live performer | A human performer talks to your family during a booked appointment. | Availability, booking terms, duration, price and the video service used. |
| Live AI conversation | An AI character responds to what your child says in the moment. | Adult supervision, voice-data handling, device support and call-minute pricing. |
Dial Santa is the third option. Its Santa is an AI character, not a human performer. It is designed for a parent or guardian to set up and enjoy with their child.
How a Dial Santa call works
- Download on iPhone. The app requires iOS 17 or later and an internet connection.
- Set up as the grown-up. Verify your email and read the app’s linked policies. Add a first name and, if you choose, a wish or a good deed.
- Choose minutes. The download is free; calls use purchased minutes. The five-minute pack is US$2.99 in the US App Store. Local prices may vary.
- Get comfortable together. Start the call inside the app and let your child ask a question. Santa responds to their voice; the camera is a self-view that stays on the device.

Is FaceTiming Santa free?
Different Santa services have different prices. Dial Santa is free to download, but its live calls require paid minutes through Apple in-app purchases. Packs are 5 minutes for US$2.99, 12 for US$5.99 or 30 for US$15.99. There is no subscription, and unused minutes never expire. Check the price shown in your App Store before buying.
Will Santa see my child?
In Dial Santa, Santa responds to speech and the details a parent provides. The camera is a local self-view; it is not sent to the AI providers or our servers. Call audio and personalization are processed by service providers as described in the privacy policy. Avoid sharing addresses, school names or other details you do not want processed.
Make the first conversation easy
Have one question ready: “What do the reindeer eat?” is easier to start with than a long list. Keep the room quiet, stay beside your child, and let them take their time. A child who only wants to listen can enjoy a short hello; there is no need to push them to perform.
Try our questions to ask Santa or read the parents’ guide before the call.
