24 questions to ask Santa
The best question is the one your child is curious about. Keep a few of these nearby for the moment they look at Santa and forget everything they wanted to say.
For an easy first hello
- What have you been doing today?
- What is your favorite kind of cookie?
- Is it snowing at the North Pole?
- What makes you laugh?
- Do you have a favorite Christmas song?
- What do you do when you need a rest?
For little reindeer experts
- What do the reindeer eat for breakfast?
- How do the reindeer practice flying?
- Which reindeer likes to play games?
- Do the reindeer get snow on their noses?
- How do you keep the reindeer warm?
- What happens when a reindeer sneezes?
For a peek around the North Pole
- What does the workshop sound like?
- What do the elves do on their days off?
- Who helps you check the sleigh?
- Does Mrs. Claus have a favorite recipe?
- What is the funniest thing that happened in the workshop?
- If I visited the North Pole, what would you show me first?
For wishes, kindness and imagination
- What is a kind thing I could do for someone this week?
- Can I tell you something I learned?
- Would you like to hear about my favorite Christmas tradition?
- How do you choose a present for someone you love?
- What would you put in a snowman’s lunchbox?
- What should we say to the reindeer before you go?
When your child is shy
Let them listen first. You can ask the opening question together or let a toy “ask” it. Give them room to decide whether to speak. A short, relaxed hello is enough; there is no need to use every question or make the moment perfect.
Follow the answer, not the list
Pick one or two favorites. If Santa talks about cookies, “Who helps bake them?” is a natural next question. Leave a little space after each answer. A conversation about one wonderfully important reindeer detail can be more fun than racing through twenty-four questions.
Keep wishes pressure-free
A wish list can be part of the story without becoming a promise. Help children talk about what they enjoy, who they care about and what they have learned. In Dial Santa, the AI character is instructed not to promise specific gifts. A grown-up should stay nearby because AI replies can be imperfect.
Calling with Dial Santa
